CO₂SAVED or CO₂GENERATED

At the outset of POWER, as a Programme 'delivering low carbon economies' the International Steering Committee asked for the programme to adopt a method of calculating the CO2 generated from the activities of the partenrs and projects (ie the meetings and events organised as part of the programme). Several tools were reviewed to find something that was quick and easy to use and acceptable to all regions.

We are therefore recording the CO2 resulting from the meetings and events organised, capturing what has been saved through using teleconferences, videoconferences or electronic means of communication, i.e. Skype.

We are also capturing what has been generated as a result of physical face to face meetings which people have travelled to will include; Steering group meetings, Partnership events, Final programme events.

All partners are asked to complete a data sheet for each meeting or event they hold, recording the travel in either kilometres or miles on the following form every 6 months Click here to download the tool (click 'Open' or 'Save' when instructed and 'no' when prompted during the download.)

The results both from the programme management activities and the activity of the sub projects will be monitored and reported at the end of the POWER Programme.
